Teens! Here is your chance to become involved in a fun book discussion club! Come and join your peers as you have your beverage of choice and discuss a young adult novel. We will be discussing Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. We will also choose a book to read and discuss for the May meeting. This group will meet on the third Thursday of the month across the hall from the library in the City of Surprise room. For ages 12-18.

Calling all Yu-Gi-Oh Duelists! Bring your own cards and meet your opponents on Sunday at 2:00 in the City of Surprise room. Battle it out with other players and see how far you can get! Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers! Meet in the City of Surprise room across the hall from the library. For ages 9-18.

Come and learn to play chess or polish your skills. Chess matches will be held every Monday. Join us for some friendly competitive chess matches! Monday Matchers will meet in the corner of the children’s story area. For ages 9-18.

Come join Shining Souls as they provide you and your friends interactive and hands on experience demonstrating the basics of Beat Making. All equipment will be provided. For ages 12-18.

Are you looking for a project to help you earn hours of community service? Please join Knit Happens in the Newsstand. The primary aim of our group is to knit/crochet 8” x 8” squares to make blankets for HIV AIDS orphans in Africa. Earn 2 hours of community service for every usable square you complete! We will teach beginners as well as accept squares from those who already know how to knit or crochet. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays monthly.

Music Jam Workshop (for 9-18 year olds) has been rescheduled for June.

The art of beat making has made its way into all forms of popular music. Learn about the art of beat making with Shining Soul Music as they demonstrate the electronic creating of songs using the latest technologies (samplers, turntable, and mixer). Audience participation is encouraged!
