Waves of blue
Accented softly
Upon a rolling tongue of ice
To be poured upon a dream
Of sovereignty
That's someone else's avarice
Chestnut brown
Smooth and solid
Malleable in an artist's hands
Taking shape
Or flight perhaps
Molding to a single command
Buckets of green
The serenity of younger days
In a world full of turmoil and chaos
Rolling hills
Of days gone by
And even those I lost.

That smile you wear from day to day
The simple words you never say.

The lies you tell, the truths you hide,
Cherishing the times we coincide.

Tensely putting on various shows,
Just to make sure that nobody knows

The tender feelings that you hide,
The precious emotions stored inside.

The vault is sealed, and only they have the key.
Will you open up and let them see?

The agony of wonder tears at your mind,
They linger in your thoughts, you cannot leave them behind.

What would you do,
If there was a shot that you blew?

It's this constant pain, of which you know all too well,
Your bruised heart has tender stories to tell.

You subtly succumb to your feelings,
And learn to manage your precious dealings,

And in this way, you suddenly feel free,
You've shown them you, and now they see.
